• All customers must operate the mobility scooter responsibly and in accordance with UK mobility scooter guidance.
• Customers must be physically able to control the scooter safely, including steering, braking, and maintaining balance.
• Scooters must not be driven under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs ability.
• The customer must follow all safety instructions provided at the time of hire.
• Minimum age to operate independently: 18 years old.
• Under 18s may only use a scooter with parental supervision.
• Maximum user weight: 19 stone (120 kg).
• Only the named hirer may operate the scooter.
• Hunstanton Mobility Hire accepts no liability for injuries, accidents, loss, or damage arising from improper or unsafe use of the scooter.
• The customer is fully responsible for their own safety and for using the scooter in a manner consistent with local laws.
• The customer is liable for any damage caused to third parties or property while the scooter is in their possession.
If a scooter is damaged during hire, the customer may be charged for:
• Repair costs
• Replacement parts
• Full replacement if damage is beyond repair
Charges will be based on the severity of damage and the cost of parts/labour.
The following are strictly prohibited:
• Riding the scooter on the road (these scooters are pavement-legal only)
• Reckless or dangerous driving
• Carrying passengers
• Riding on beaches, sand, or water
• Using the scooter for stunts, races, or non-intended purposes
Misuse will void the hire agreement and may result in immediate termination and charges for damage.
• Scooters must be returned at the agreed time.
• Late returns may incur additional charges.
• Failure to return the scooter may result in lost/stolen equipment charges.
• Cancellations made 24+ hours before hire may be eligible for a refund.
• Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable.
• Refunds are processed at the discretion of Hunstanton Mobility Hire.
• We collect only the information required to process your booking.
• Your personal data will not be shared with third parties except where legally required.
• All data is stored securely in compliance with UK GDPR regulations.
• Customers must ensure they are medically fit to operate a mobility scooter.
• If unsure, customers should consult a medical professional before hiring.
• Hunstanton Mobility Hire is not responsible for issues arising from undisclosed medical conditions.
• These mobility scooters are pavement-legal only.
• Use on public roads is prohibited (except to cross the road safely).
• Customers must follow local pedestrian rules and give way to others.
By hiring a scooter from Hunstanton Mobility Hire, you agree to:
• All terms listed above
• Operate the scooter safely
• Take responsibility for any damage or misuse
• Return the scooter on time and in good condition
A digital acceptance checkbox is required before your booking is submitted.
In person there will be verbal confirmation for hiring the scooter.
